Our South African businesses generate just under half of group revenues and are based between Secunda and Cape Town.

Prommac is the largest of our SA investments and together with EC&I provides a range of drone solutions, project management, shutdown management, and mechanical maintenance services to the petrochemical, mining, power and energy industries.

New Age Engineering is the newest addition to the South African portfolio and provides specialised welding services as well as consultancy, training, fabrication and welder qualifications to the same industries.

Clients include various companies of Sasol, as well as Puma Energy, Thyssen-Krupp, Eskom, Chevron and Ponticelli.


Al Laith group of companies was acquired in 2016. Established more than two decades ago, Al Laith generates 50% of CG Holdings group revenues, predominantly in the UAE. It also has smaller operations in Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Al Laith is a top 5 supplier to the construction industry of access equipment such as scaffolding, powered access machines and mast climbers. It is also the region’s leading supplier of event overlay infrastructure, such as temporary stages, stands, hospitality cabins, toilets and security fencing.


IRIS Group was founded in 2015 and uses unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), more commonly known as drones, to provide solutions to client problems.

IRIS currently uses high end aircraft and sensors to produce useful information for clients wishing to inspect infrastructure such as railway tracks, power pylons, roads, telecommunication masts, bridges, oil rigs, refineries, industrial plants, mine stockpiles and construction sites.

IRIS Group also provides consulting services and training to corporate clients wishing to acquire and use UAS for their own needs. The business has offices in Camberley (UK), and Bergen (Norway) and is represented by local partners in Malaysia and Indonesia.


CG Industrial Holdings Ltd (trading as CG Holdings) is registered in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) and its shares are held by its directors and their family entities.  The majority shareholder is SONS Investments Ltd (SONS), a company registered in the BVI.

SONS has shares listed on the Bermuda Stock Exchange. It is also an Approved Fund in terms of the Securities and Investment Business Act 2010 (BVI) and is overseen by two regulatory authorities – the BVI Financial Services Commission and the Bermuda Stock Exchange.




Mr Carroll has 25 years of experience as a financial markets professional and investor, with senior corporate and board level expertise in financial services and natural resources. From 1991 to 2004, he held various positions at Deutsche Bank South Africa, including head of investment banking and corporate finance.  From 2004 to 2012 he was the founder Chief Executive Officer of Royal Bafokeng Finance (subsequently Royal Bafokeng Holdings), which became a major investment holding company in South Africa and the world’s largest community owned investment holding company.  Since 2012, he has been building a portfolio of industrial services businesses, now housed in CG Holdings.  He is a graduate of the University of Cape Town and is a chartered accountant and chartered financial analyst.  Mr Carroll is currently based in London.


Non Executive Director

Mr Jackson qualified as a geologist from the University of Natal and is a chartered financial analyst.  He has 25 years of experience in mining and financial markets and has worked in a number of African countries and the Middle East.  After an initial period as an exploration geologist for De Beers, in the mid 1990’s he joined Deutsche Bank South Africa and became a director of mining equity research.  In 2004, he joined Royal Bafokeng Finance (subsequently Royal Bafokeng Holdings) as its second employee and Chief Investment Officer and oversaw the diversification and growth of its investment portfolio to more than USD4 billion.  In 2010, he became an executive director of Mining Oil and Gas Services (MOGS), a subsidiary of Royal Bafokeng Holdings.  He is based in Johannesburg and for the past three years has been building a portfolio of industrial services and property businesses around the world, some of which are now part of CG Holdings.



Mr. English has more than 15 years of senior management experience in the Project Management & Project services space. After serving as a member of the South African Police Services and a qualified paramedic, Jason qualified as a Mechanical Engineer and worked for 15 years at Kentz Engineers & Constructors. In 2012, Jason became the CEO of Prommac, and holds a project management qualification and has a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). Jason has spoken at and attended seminars around the world, and is one of few South African born leaders to be selected as part of the Peter Diamandis mastermind of 250 exponential entrepreneurs. Jason serves on the EXCO of the Young Presidents Organisation (YPO), the Global Deal and Opportunity Network, as well as the Global Entrepreneurship & Innovation Network. Jason has been featured on numerous media platforms including Entrepreneur SA and CNBC and loves learning about the future world. He was appointed as CG Holdings CEO in 2018.
